Accenture Aptitude Questions 2026

3 October 2026 · Pocket Aptitude Team

Accenture’s fresher hiring assessment is most commonly reported as a Cognitive and Technical Assessment of about 90 minutes, followed by coding and communication rounds. The aptitude part is described as English, critical reasoning (coding-decoding, blood relations, syllogisms) and abstract reasoning. Accenture itself publishes no question counts or cutoffs, and prep sites disagree on timings.

A note on sourcing: Accenture’s own careers pages give only a general description of its assessments. Everything more specific below, including section names, question counts and timings, comes from prep-site reporting as of October 2026, and those sites often copy each other. We mark what Accenture states, what several sites agree on, and what they dispute, and we haven’t picked a figure to settle a disagreement. Always check your own test invite.

What Does Accenture Officially Say About the Assessment?

On its careers journey page, Accenture says:

  • Assessments take roughly 30 to 90 minutes, are online, and are completed within about 72 hours.
  • They’re auto-scored, and candidates who meet a validated threshold move forward.
  • If you don’t clear one, there’s a 90-day wait before you can retake it.
  • External AI tools aren’t permitted during the assessment.
  • Candidates in India can have only one active application at a time.

The page doesn’t name the sections or give question counts, timings, or cutoffs.

What Test Structure Is Commonly Reported?

Prep sites most often describe a Cognitive and Technical Assessment in a single block of about 90 minutes, then separate coding and communication rounds:

PartCommonly reported content
Cognitive (about 50 questions)English (about 17), Critical Reasoning (about 18), Abstract Reasoning (about 15)
Technical (about 40 questions)MS Office (about 12), Pseudocode (about 18), Networking, Security and Cloud (about 10)
CodingTwo problems, about 45 minutes
CommunicationAbout 20 minutes

This is the most repeated version, not a confirmed one. Several of the sites repeating it appear to copy each other, so their agreement isn’t independent verification.

Where Sources Disagree

DetailWhat different sources say
Coding roundTwo problems in 45 minutes in some sources; three problems in 60 minutes in another
Communication roundAbout 20 minutes in several; 25 to 35 minutes with 63 AI-graded questions in one; about 20 questions in 30 minutes in another
Total test timeFigures of 135, 155 and 175 minutes appear, and one source says 3 to 4 hours for the whole online phase
EliminationOne says only the 90-minute round eliminates candidates; another says each section has its own cutoff
Syllabus modelThe English, critical and abstract reasoning model above, or a generic Quant, Logical and Verbal model with 15 to 20 questions each
Negative markingSeveral say none; one says the status is unknown and may vary
Adaptive testOne source says non-adaptive; we couldn’t verify adaptivity anywhere else

Because of this, don’t plan around a specific question count or assume there’s no negative marking. Read the instructions on your own test.

Which Question Types Are Reported?

Most sources agree on these for the cognitive part:

  • English: grammar, vocabulary and comprehension-style questions.
  • Critical reasoning: analogies, coding-decoding, blood relations, syllogisms and data sufficiency.
  • Abstract reasoning: pattern series and figure matrices. These are visual, so we can’t reproduce them in text, but number and letter series (see the number series guide) build the same pattern-spotting habit.

Quantitative topics such as percentages, profit and loss and time and work are listed by some sources, while others fold them into “critical reasoning”. Treat the exact quant syllabus as unconfirmed and give it light practice rather than none.

The technical part (MS Office, pseudocode, networking, security and cloud) is outside what this guide covers.

Practice Questions in the Reported Style

These are original practice questions written for the reported topic areas, not claims that they appeared on a real Accenture test.

1. Coding-decoding. If MANGO is coded as NBOHP, how is APPLE coded? Answer: BQQMF. Each letter moves one place forward (M→N, A→B, N→O, G→H, O→P), so A→B, P→Q, P→Q, L→M, E→F.

2. Blood relations. A is B’s sister. C is B’s mother. D is C’s father. How is A related to D? Answer: granddaughter. A and B are C’s children, and C’s father is D, so D is A’s grandfather and A is his granddaughter.

3. Syllogism. Statements: All pens are books. Some books are bags. Conclusions: I. Some pens are bags. II. Some bags are books. Which follows? Answer: only II. “Some books are bags” can be turned around to “some bags are books”. Conclusion I doesn’t follow, because the books that are bags need not include any pens.

4. Number series. What comes next: 2, 6, 12, 20, 30, ? Answer: 42. The gaps are 4, 6, 8, 10, so the next gap is 12 and 30 + 12 = 42.

5. Data sufficiency. What is the value of x? (I) 2x + 3 = 11. (II) x² = 16. Which statement is enough? Answer: I alone. Statement I gives x = 4. Statement II gives x = 4 or x = −4, so it doesn’t pin down one value.

6. Percentage. A price rises by 20% and then falls by 20%. What is the net change? Answer: a 4% decrease. 1.20 × 0.80 = 0.96, which is 4% below the original.

7. Time and work. A can finish a job in 15 days and B in 10 days. How long do they take together? Answer: 6 days. Together they do 1/15 + 1/10 = 5/30 = 1/6 of the job per day.

How to Prepare When the Sources Disagree

Prepare for the overlap instead of betting on one version. Practise critical reasoning (the question types above) and pattern series first, keep English grammar and vocabulary sharp, and give quantitative topics a lighter pass in case your version includes them. Practise under time pressure, because the one thing every source agrees on is that the sections are timed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Accenture aptitude test for freshers?

It’s most commonly described as a Cognitive and Technical Assessment of about 90 minutes, followed by coding and communication rounds. Accenture’s own pages give only a general description, so section details come from prep sites.

How many questions are there in the Accenture cognitive assessment?

The most repeated figure is about 50 cognitive questions (English, critical reasoning, abstract reasoning) plus about 40 technical ones, but this comes from prep sites, not Accenture.

Is there negative marking in the Accenture test?

Several prep sites say there’s none, but one says the status is unknown and may vary, and Accenture doesn’t state it. Check the instructions on your own test.

Does Accenture publish cutoffs?

No official cutoff is published. Claims about sectional cutoffs differ from site to site, so we haven’t quoted any.

Is quantitative aptitude part of the Accenture test?

It’s unclear. Some sources list percentages, profit and loss and time and work, while others fold quant into critical reasoning. Give it light practice.

What is the eligibility for Accenture’s fresher hiring?

Prep sites most often cite about 60% (some say 6.0 CGPA or 65%), no active backlogs, and a gap of about a year or less. The figures differ between sources, so confirm on Accenture’s careers site.
