Privacy Policy – Pocket Aptitude

This policy explains what information Pocket Aptitude collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers our website (pocketaptitude.in), our web app (app.pocketaptitude.in) and our Android app. Pocket Aptitude is operated by eduSeed, Tamil Nadu, India. If you use our services, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Account details. When you log in, we collect your email address. If you choose Google sign-in, we also receive the basic profile details Google shares with us. We don't ask you to create a password. The web app and the Android app use the same account and the same database, so you can log in to both with one account and your progress is shared.
Practice and progress data. The questions you attempt, your answers, whether they were correct, the time you took, your test and challenge progress, and anything you save in the app, such as pinned questions, personal notes and your daily streak.
Usage data. When you use the web app, we record when a session starts and ends, how long it lasts and which page you opened, so we can understand how the app is used and improve it.
Website analytics. On our website we use Google Analytics to see which pages are read, how far visitors scroll, which links are clicked, and general information such as your approximate location (from your IP address), device type and browser.
Payments. If you buy Premium, payment is processed by Razorpay. We don't see or store your card, UPI or bank details. We keep a record of your plan and payment status.
Messages to us. If you email support, we keep your message and our reply so we can help you.

How we use your information

To provide the service, including logging you in and saving your progress.
To show you your performance, weak topics and revision lists.
To manage Premium access and payments.
To understand how people use Pocket Aptitude and to fix problems and improve our content and features.
To answer your questions, handle account requests, and keep the service secure.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser to recognise repeat visits and measure how pages are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out tool. Blocking cookies won't stop you from reading our guides.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't show third-party advertising. We share data only with the service providers we rely on to run Pocket Aptitude:

Supabase, which provides our database and login.
Google, for Google sign-in and Google Analytics.
Razorpay, which processes Premium payments.
Hosting providers, which serve our website and web app.

These providers handle data under their own privacy policies. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and our service.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and progress data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete it, along with the personal data associated with it, within a reasonable time after verifying your request. We may keep certain information where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention or financial record-keeping purposes.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. To delete your account, follow the steps on our account deletion page. For anything else, write to us at the address below.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
